Singita Ebony is simply one of the most stunning safari lodges you will find anywhere in Africa. Set in a shaded grove of trees on the bank of the Sand River, this is the perfect spot for exploring the Sabi Sand Reserve.
The suites here are vast, with separate bedroom and living areas and massive bathrooms. Expansive decking areas contain plenty of space for relaxing during the day, as well as their own private plunge pools and space for private dining should you wish. The main areas of the lodge are very comfortable and you will always find a member of staff on hand to prepare drinks and allow you to relax and enjoy the opulent surroundings of Ebony Lodge.
The first lodge in the Singita family, it continues to remain one of the best in the Sabi Sands. The usual Singita elements are all found here – superb game viewing, pool, gym, spa – but unusually families are welcomed with open arms; the family suites are great and a special mini-game ranger course runs.
The food here is exquisitely prepared and crafted, making it the perfect way to start and end your day. Rest on the balcony or for a more private affair enjoy the in-suite dining while you overlook the active game reserve.
Singita is also recognised as one of Africa’s most influential collectors of wine, with an extensive cellar showcasing a premium selection of wines, including some of the continent’s most sought-after private reserves, including Exclusive Release, Limited Single Vineyard and Rare Auction Wines.
There are 12 secluded suites scattered in a secluded area of this private reserve, two of which are ideal for families wishing to stay (whether that be with littluns or teenagers). Spacious interiors are styled with a varied mix of rich colours, and inviting textures and layers making it an idyllic retreat. Big beds, en-suite bathrooms, an indoor-outdoor shower, private heated plunge pools, and spacious game viewing decks complete this luxurious accommodation.
New for 2016 is the Ebony Villa, an exclusive offering for families or those looking for more privacy. Comprising the two two-bedroom family suites plus an additional private lounge, swimming pool and deck area the Villa will also have its own private guide and vehicle, chef, host and personal waiter. Guests are welcome to dine in the privacy of their villa or join the other guests at the main lodge.
Children of all ages are welcome. There are babysitting services available and tailor-made activities to suit each family. In the interest of safety, children's participation in game activities is at the discretion of your guide.
There is also accommodation catering for children; the Lewis suites are ideal for adults with teenage children and the Family Suites are perfect for the little ones.
