Mahali Mzuri is one of the latest projects from Sir Richard Branson in Africa and only opened in August 2013. Located in the northern region of the Maasai Mara ecosystem in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy amongst 13,000 hectares of bush to explore with endless plains in sight, it’s an ideal hub for an abundance of game viewing, and is in a perfect location on the path of the famous Great Migration.
The camp is perched on the side of a lush valley with stunning views, and visitors will be able to take part in game drives with experienced guides, departing early morning or late afternoon, with night game drives also being available,
The 12 luxury tented suites bring a cosy and relaxing atmosphere and are equipped with everything you could possibly need – including GHD straighteners and an in-tent mini bar. This is a high tech property where iPads are available free of charge but the service is the best around with 41 members of staff to look after you.
One of the main highlights of a stay at Mahali Mzuri will be the delicious food on offer. With snacks available before setting off on game drives, a continental buffet served at breakfast and multiple course meals in the evening, either at shared tables with other guests to compare your experiences or private tables for two, the dining experience at this property is certainly one to remember.
The newest property in the Mara, Mahali Mzuri is a lovely combination of modern luxury and touches, but in the heart of the African Bush. The guides here are some of the best you will find in Kenya and, with very few vehicles allowed to drive the area, you are assured of a fantastic game viewing experience.
From bush BBQs to champagne picnics to sundowners our team will treat you to a wide selection of African and international menus. All our breads and pastries are baked daily and we also cater for private meals and special occasions. We use locally-sourced produce, flavours and spices to deliver something truly memorable to your stay. In the evenings dinner might be served in the main dining tent, out in the bush or even somewhere private just for two.
There are 12 luxury tented suites catering for a maximum of 24 guests at any one time. They are very unusual looking, almost spaced aged, which clearly has Sir Richard Branson all over it. And the inside doesn’t falter either. Each tented suite will sit on a raised platform and include a spacious bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, sitting area and a large deck with views over the landscape - perfect for spotting the game that will almost certainly wander into view.
Children are welcome but only from the ages 8-15. Being in such a remote place it would not be an ideal place to taken a younger child.
