A camp with a family history, it is claimed a camp fire has burned on this site, overlooking the riverine bush, for more than 85 years.
Today there are 10 grand chalets; wide, comfortable and private with every amenity the serious safari guru needs. All the chalets have wooden decks with private pools, the game viewing is superb and children are welcome, with family rooms and a special educational programme of dedicated safari activities.
Famed for the campfire which has reputedly burned continuously on this site for 85 years. Very chic rooms, and like all the lodges in the Londolozi portfolio, almost guaranteed leopard sightings. The brave can pre-book overnight sleep-outs.
Share your daytime’s safari stories and adventures with other guests while experiencing a tempting dinner in the outdoor boma. Accompanied by a good glass of African wine, selected from the lodge’s well-supplied cellar, you will end your day magically under a spellbinding starry sky or a romantic candlelit atmosphere.
Varty Camp comprises two types of accommodations: eight chalets and two superior chalets provided with all the luxury comforts a discerning traveller might need. The former are distinguished by traditional African style and feature private pools, timber decks overlooking the bush, while the superior chalets also come with canopied beds, private salas, waving drapes and inlaid mosaic floors.
Londolozi Varty Camp is a family-friendly accommodation and gladly hosts children over the age of four. It boasts unique programmes tailored for children’s entertainment and education with an eye on their contact with nature and wildlife. Kids over six can enjoy game drives if accompanied by their parents, while for families with younger children there is the chance to have a private vehicle and experience a tailor-made safari.
They can also join The Cubs Programme, where they can par-take in various activities and work shops such as:
