The brand new Leeu House is the latest boutique offering in Franschhoek. With just 12 rooms, each finished in a slightly different way, Leeu House is the epitome of understated luxury. The stylish interiors are a contemporary take on Franschhoek’s Cape Dutch heritage with its strong French influences.
Leeu House’s special appeal is lies in the fact that it feels like a country guesthouse even though it is situated on the vibrant main street of the village, within easy strolling distance of award-winning restaurants, art galleries, boutiques and many other attractions.
Found on the main street of Franschhoek, Leeu House is within easy walking distance of the town’s restaurants, art galleries, boutique shops and much more, while providing an oasis of calm to retreat to.

Delicious, innovative cuisine is prepared by Leeu House’s culinary team, headed by executive chef Oliver Cattermole. A leisurely breakfast is inclusive until 11am, and lunch and dinner menus showcasing the finest locally sourced organic and ethically farmed produce bring you vibrant world flavours. The finest South African wines are available all day, with the Mullineux house wines complimentary to guests. Breakfast is served from 07h00 and dinner from 19h00.
Guests are also welcome to eat at Heritage Square, an exciting new culinary hub across the street that is also part of Leeu Collection. Guests are also welcome at nearby sister property, Leeu Estates.
Seamlessly integrated finishes are neutral, calm and multi-textured, and feature contemporary artworks. The 12 individually styled rooms and suites are luxuriously appointed, with exquisite marble bathrooms. Two of the rooms open onto their own private gardens, while two others boast small intimate terrace courtyards and two have private balconies. The rooms are equipped with the latest technology and include a high-definition flat-screen smart television; media hub fitted into the writing desk with complimentary Wi-Fi access, including international sockets/plugs; iPad on request; individually controlled air conditioning; electronic safe; and Nespresso coffee machine and mini bar.
Accommodation categories include Classic (on average 35 square metres), two with shower only; Deluxe (43 square metres) and Deluxe with terrace (square metres), all with a bath and shower; and Grande Suite with terrace (65 square metres), one with shower only.
Serene and secluded gardens feature strategically placed sculptures and a 15-metre outdoor heated swimming pool with a shaded terrace. There’s complimentary use of bicycles and a shuttle service between Leeu House and its sister property, Leeu Estates.
