Exactly as it says, this is home to ten amazing suites and six extraordinary two-bedroom villas, all built into and hidden among the treetops of Tsitsikamma.
It is an architectural gem; a fusion of stone, wood, glass and water and decorated in an Afro-baroque style. Each suite and villa has its own private deck and plunge pool and allows guests the chance to live as close to nature as possible. Although guests may choose to simply relax amid the forest, the lodge can also offer exciting activities such as a zipline tour through the forest, horse-riding or ocean cruises.
Hidden amongst, and up the trees, the villas iconic features are the private swimming pools which allow residents to appear to swim in the tree tops. Gimmick aside, the food is consistently good but a car is required to explore the surrounding area.
Breakfast, light lunches and 24 hour room service are served from Tsala’s smaller kitchen, whilst a fantastic dinner experience can be had at Zinzi Restaurant, made unique by the deliberately oversized furnishings and eccentric decoration. There is also a wine cellar where guests can enjoy private dining should they wish.
One bedroom and Two bedroom Villas. All rooms are identical with private decking areas and infinity plunge pools. Two bedroom villas have the addition of a lounge area between the two bedrooms.
Two bedroom family suites are good for families with older children however, owing to the treetop position of Tsala, it is not suited to younger children.
