Lemala Ngorongoro Tented Camp is set in the acacia forest on the rim of the world famous Ngorongoro Crater, renowned for its high density of big game and the spectacular setting of this 600 metre deep volcanic crate. The camp is close to the Lemala entrance gate allowing guests to descend early to the crater floor to begin their game viewing before guests from other camps.
The tents are traditional in style whilst offering space and comfort. It can get cold here at night so the tents are kept cosy with heaters, winter duvets and hot water bottles. A mess tent and a campfire around which to enjoy pre dinner drinks and swap safari stories enhance the traditional feel of the camp.
COVID-19 POLICY |
Being so close to the park gate is a great plus for this camp as guests can start their game viewing on the crater floor before those staying at other camps and lodges. Note that the camp looks onto the acacia forest rather than having views of the crater.
Meals are served in a mess tent furnished with sofas, lamps and wooden chests. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks around the campfire.
The nine traditionally styled ensuite tents are large enough for two queen size beds and feature gas heaters, hot water bottles and thick duvets for those cold crater nights.
Lemala Ngorongoro accepts children from six years of age. There is a family tent which can accommodate two adults and two children.
