Two-and-a-half-year-old cheetahs Saba and Nairo were born at Howletts Wild Animal Park in Kent arrived at Ashia’s Cheetah Centre in Paarl, Western Cape on February 7th where they will begin their transition and preparation period before being released into the wild. This is the first time ever that cheetahs born and raised in the UK have taken their first steps on African soil.
Ashia Founder, Chantal Rischard said, "We are relieved that these two magnificent cats have arrived safely and we will give them the best care possible while at Ashia". The leopards were treated to a meal of fresh springbok upon arrival at their spacious new camp, and staff are confident that the brothers will be ready to take the next step in their rewilding process in a matter of weeks.
