With the decrease of COVID-19 cases across the country, the United Republic of Tanzania has announced that tourism will restart in Tanzania from 18 May 2020. A summary of the re-opening details and the guidelines that will be practised to ensure the safety of international tourists are given below.
The Ministry of Tourism and Natural Resources will ensure that the health of Tanzanians is safe and a priority. Tourists entering Tanzania will be COVID-19 free. Every effort possible will be done to keep them safe. Measures to protect them are in line with the Ministry of Health Community Development, Gender, Elderly and Children (MoHCDEC) and the World Health Organization (WHO)

Addition of information on the lifting of ban on international flights, though no commercial flights expected until June, and update to information on changes to coronavirus (COVID-19) measures, including the lifting of mandatory quarantine on arrival and introduction of enhanced screening.
