A four-star experience on the northern boundary of the Amakhala Game Reserve with 11 luxury suites, all with private plunge pool and spacious sitting area.
Throughout the suites and the public areas are wonderful examples of traditional African beadwork and handicrafts, and in addition to game drives and walks on the reserve the lodge also offers a special three day package which includes game viewing in the Addo Elephant Park and a visit to the nearby and famous Born Free Foundation.
A five-star experience at four-star prices, Safari Lodge offers great value. Also as it is the nearest Amakhala property to both the headquarters of the Born Free Foundation and to the Addo Elephant Park, it is able to offer a three day package which includes visits to both – perfect for the wildlife aficionado.
Dining will revolve around the main dining room in the lodge, however, if the weather is fine, guests will be able to experience at least one outdoor “Boma” dinner during their stay.
Rooms here have a thatched roof with stone walls and are lovely and spacious, well furnished and with big bathrooms. Guests will be able to benefit from their own private plunge pools, especially welcome during the summer when it can get very warm in the afternoons.
This is not ideal for children and there are much better options for families when they are staying at Amakhala.
