Remote Kwetsani Camp is located on an island in the private Jao Concession, west of Chief's Island and adjoining the Moremi Game Reserve. The accommodation at this luxurious camp consists of spacious treehouse chalets, raised on stilts beneath a shady canopy of trees and overlooking wildlife-filled floodplains. Kwetsani Camp offers a wide range of safari activities to enhance your experience of this classic African wilderness.Head out on a mokoro or motorboat trip along reed-lined waterways for game viewing and birding while if you're keen to spot big animals like big cats, buffalo, wild dog and elephant, then walking safaris plus morning and afternoon/early evening game drives are ideal. For an unforgettable Okavango Delta experience, sleepovers can be arranged at one of the game viewing hides.
The accommodation at Kwetsani is in stunning and very photogenic tree-house chalets. The excursions by boat and by mokoro are particularly memorable here and the brave can spend a snug night in the viewing hide, waiting for the nocturnal creatures to make an appearance – try to get a few hours sleep beforehand in the afternoon as you will not want to miss any of the night-time action.
Kwetsani's main area is covered by a cooling thatched roof with the comfy sitting area, dining area, curio shop and bar area leading directly onto an extensive wooden viewing deck which even incorporates some of the surrounding trees. Early morning, late afternoon and early evening game drives are offered, as are guided nature walks and canoe and motorboat safaris. If you want a truly relaxing day, spend the day fishing (catch and release) or just watch animals passing by camp as you cool off in the swimming pool.
A light breakfast is served before your early morning safari activity with an elaborate brunch set out on your return. A delicious high tea is served before your late afternoon activity and drinks and snacks are available for sundowners while out on a drive or boat trip. Dinner comprises a three-course meal: the starter and dessert are usually plated while the main course is served buffet style. Dine inside or on the open-air deck for elegant alfresco dining.
Kwetsani Camp is an intimate luxury camp with only five treehouses available, all raised on wooden decks and connected to the main area by interwoven and elevated walkways. These lavish chalets are tucked away underneath enormous trees and are built under thatched roofs with canvas, glass and pole walls. Each treehouse has French doors that open onto a private veranda with views of the Okavango Delta, and feature an en suite bathroom with an additional outdoor shower for a truly natural African experience
