The island of Zanzibar conjures up images and thoughts of Arabian nights, exotic spices and exquisite palaces, and this itinerary allows the traveller to really get under the destination’s skin, and to fully embrace all of its sights and sounds.
Time is spent exploring the arches, alleyways and magnificent doors in historic Stone Town before some proper R&R is enjoyed on the pristine white beaches, with a stay at one of the island’s finest coastal retreats.
Accommodation includes: Zanzibar Serena Hotel and The Residence
Overnight flight from London Heathrow to Addis Ababa.
Connect with onward flight to Zanzibar and on arrival transfer to stay for three nights at the Zanzibar Serena Hotel. Stone Town’s best hotel occupies the best location – right on the waterfront overlooking the turquoise waters of the Zanzibar Channel, and within easy walking distance of the many historical sights, restaurants and boutiques. The property has been painstakingly restored and sits elegantly amongst landscaped gardens. Each guestroom is cool and white and focuses on the traditional attributes of Swahili style, ethnic elegance and Arabic opulence whilst the pool deck offers unrivalled views of passing dhows and sunsets.
Today you will be transferred to the south of the island to stay for seven nights on the beach at The Residence. This resort is a haven of opulence and sophistication which offers a selection of one & two bedroom villas, each decorated with facets of the island’s African and Omani heritage, and with their own private swimming pool.
The main pool which overlooks the beach is partly glass-walled and there is an air-conditioned fitness centre, floodlit tennis court and great variety of water sports. With a spa, hammam, yoga classes, children's club and dhow cruises all available, The Residence really is a resort for all ages.
