Peter Hoeg said that "Travelling tends to magnify all human emotions" and no other words couldn't describe any better this itinerary through the marvels of Botswana. Offering an unrivalled experience into beautiful lands like no others in the world, it is a journey for nourishing mind, soul and emotions.
Accommodation includes: Kanana Camp, Okuti Camp, Linyanti Bush Camp and Muchenje Camp Lodge
Overnight flight from Heathrow to Johannesburg on British Airways, flying in economy class
Morning arrival and connecting flight to Maun and continue by light aircraft to Kanana Camp for a two night stay. Kanana means paradise in the Setswana language, an apt name for this remote, luxury camp built on stilts with views over the floodplain. The camp has just eight tents hidden in the shade of acacia, ebony and sausage trees. Activities depend on the water levels of the annual flood and may include game drives in open vehicles, gliding along the Delta’s waterways in a mokoro canoe, exploring the bush on guided walks and visits to a huge heronry where many birds come to nest.
You will fly by light aircraft to Okuti Camp for a two night stay. The Moremi Game Reserve is one of Botswana’s prime game viewing areas and from Okuti Camp guests can enjoy the rich wildlife on game drives and motorboating on the lagoons and through the winding channels. The camp’s “tents” have a unique curved style and are raised on teak decks with river views and two of the units have two bedrooms which are perfect for families.
Leave the Delta behind and fly by light aircraft to the marshlands of the Linyanti where you will stay for three nights at Linyanti Bush Camp. The camp is situated on the banks of the Linyanti marsh which is the only water source for miles around and attracts water and desert adapted wildlife in addition to large numbers of birds. Linyanti Bush Camp provides an intimate and personalised experience with just six large tents, each positioned to make the most of the spectacular views of the marsh. A diversity of activities ensures a great safari experience with game drives, night drives and walks on offer and, subject to water levels, fishing, motorboat and mokoro canoe trips.
Fly north to Chobe National Park and a three night stay at Muchenje Safari Lodge. Perched high on an escarpment Muchenje enjoys exceptional views and this is something that the main lodge area and accommodation take full advantage of. The lodge has eleven thatched bungalows with a private, shaded verandah and the main areas offer plenty of space to relax and revel in the tranquil setting. Chobe is famous for its large herds of elephant and buffalo and there is also a great range of plains game and predators including lions and wild dogs. Muchenje offers diverse activities including interesting bush walks, village visits, day and night game drives and boating on the Chobe River which is a great way to experience close up encounters with the wildlife.
You will be taken to Kasane airport for your flight to Johannesburg and connecting overnight flight on British Airways to Heathrow, flying in economy class.
