Itinerary Overview

A wonderful, affordable way to explore the wonders of northern Tanzania in the company of your very own private safari guide. Beginning in Arusha, time in the Tarangire National Park and at the incredible Ngorongoro Crater is followed by an extensive stay in the Serengeti National Park.

Days 1Arrival & Arumeru River Lodge

Arrival & Arumeru River Lodge

On arrival in Kilimanjaro, you will be met and transferred to stay overnight at Arumeru River Lodge.

Located on a former coffee plantation surrounded by lush, magnificent gardens, this lodge has an inviting lounge and large terrace with wonderful views of Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.

Day 2Maweninga Camp, Tarangire National Park

Maweninga Camp, Tarangire National Park

Travel with your private guide and safari vehicle to the Tarangire National Park to enjoy a full day game drive in Tarangire with picnic lunch before staying overnight at Maweninga Camp.

Perched on the top of an imposing granite rock, this camp has the privilege of being within the Tarangire National Park and overlooks Lake Manyara and Burunge. The 16 canvas tents have been built on individual raised wooden platforms and all feature an open terrace, bedroom and dressing room alcove with en-suite bathroom.

Day 3Bashay Rift Lodge, Karatu

Bashay Rift Lodge, Karatu

Enjoy a game drive in Tarangire before taking a scenic journey, passing Lake Manyara National Park up the Great Rift Escarpment to Karatu, the gateway to the Ngorongoro Crater, to stay overnight at Bashay Rift Lodge.

Built on the top of a hill amidst a magnificent garden, the public areas at this charming lodge include beautiful terraces which offer unique views over Lake Eyasi and the Rift Valley, whilst the guest rooms have a special "Farm in Africa" feeling.

Day 4Olduvai Camp, Ngorongoro Crater

Olduvai Camp, Ngorongoro Crater

Enjoy a full day game driving in the Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch, staying overnight at Olduvai Camp.

Located in the Ngorongoro Conservation area, close to the Olduvai Gorge, this camp offers a truly unique bush experience between the Ngorongoro Crater and the vast Serengeti plains. It is built around a kopje, a huge granitic rock rising above the plains, with the tents and the main area of restaurant, bar and terraces designed to blend seamlessly into the surrounding environment, offering superb views over the savannah.

Days 5-6Togoro Plains, Serengeti National Park

Togoro Plains, Serengeti National Park

Depart for the Serengeti National Park, game viewing en-route, for two night stay at Togoro Plains.

Located in the northern part of the Serengeti, halfway between Seronera and Lobo and famed for its permanent water holes, this tented safari camp also features a dining and lounge area as well as a bar and swimming pool.

Days 7-8Grumeti Hills, Serengeti National Park

Grumeti Hills, Serengeti National Park

After a morning game drive continue onwards through the Serengeti National Park to stay for two nights in Grumeti Hills.

Bordering the Serengeti and located in the heart of the Grumeti Game Reserve, this superior camp offers outstanding tented safari accommodation, all of which faces the great plains, as well as   walking safaris & night game drives.

Day 9Departure

Departure

Enjoy a final game drive en-route to Kogatende Airstrip for your light aircraft flight to Arusha.

Transfer to enjoy lunch at the Arusha Coffee Lodge before onward transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport.
