Gliding on the mighty Chobe River, this world-class house boat couples classic elegance with modern comforts, offering excellent sightings of the diverse wildlife that grace its banks. Ideal for romantics who are looking for two or three nights of boat-based safari experiences, the Zambezi Queen creates the ultimate, luxurious safari. Relax on the deck, sip a refreshing drink in the lounge, or cool off in the pool as you look out over the river and spot wildlife on the banks. For closer encounters with wildlife, set out on smaller specialised boats that won't disturb the animals in their natural environment. Half-day land-based game viewing is yet another possibility, while a helicopter ride to view these animals from above creates a truly memorable experience.
Africa is full of unique experiences, and this is one of the finest. An elegant river boat which operates cruises on the Chobe river, it has just 14 cabins, making it akin to being on a private river outing. The plunge pool is great for spotting elephants onshore although small tendered boats are used for game viewing. Try desperately to build the 2 or 3 night itinerary into your Botswana holiday.
The top deck is an entirely air-conditioned space where you can relax and be social. The lounge area features a library with many entertaining board games and a telescope, while the sunbathing area and pool are the perfect place to enjoy the warm days on the river. The bar area is also located on the top deck and offer a wide selection of local and imported spirits, wines and beers. There is also a swimming pool and internet facilities.
Situated on the 3rd level with unobstructed views on three sides, our guests will dine in absolute opulence whilst taking in the unique African surrounds. Included in your stay are a full English breakfast in the morning, buffet lunch and formal dining in the evening. All the kitchen staff are locally trained Namibians, with the head chef's being from Zimbabwe. The bar contains both local and imported spirits, wine and beers.
The first and second levels of the boat incorporate 14 cabins - all of which have their own private balconies and have been tastefully furnished with either a double or two single beds. Of the 14 suites, 4 are master suites, some with their own private outdoor areas. These master suites are all larger than the 10 standard suites. Because of the limitations regarding power, none of the suites have been fitted with air conditioning units. However, each private space has been designed with the African summer in mind, and clever use of shutters situated on the outer edge of the deck and fans ensures a cool experience even during times of the year when external temperatures soar. Uniquely, the entire boat including the top deck, living and dining area, has mosquito screening.
