Sanctuary Chief's Camp is a luxury camp set on a remote island in the Okavango Delta and is consistently rated one of the top safari camps in Botswana by Conde Nast and Travel and Leisure. The area it lies in is considered to have the finest game viewing in Southern Africa including the Big Five. The camp was recently renovated to an exceptionally high standard and features 12 large and ultra luxurious bush pavilions overlooking the waters of the Okavango Delta, each with their own plunge pools and outside seating and dining areas, so you can sit back and relax and watch the passing wildlife without ever leaving the camp.
The main deck area is split-level and offers expansive views over the floodplain while the lower level of the deck houses an exquisite swimming pool. Other onsite amenities include a library, fitness centre, children's play room and spa where you can wash away all the dust from a busy day of game viewing with a relaxing massage. If you are feeling more adventurous, the camp also offers scenic helicopter rides at an additional cost over the Delta, exposing areas which are unreachable by vehicle or boat and showcasing its sheer enormity.
Located on the best game viewing areas in Botswana – Chief’s Island. The exceptional safaris are backed up by beautiful guest rooms with large private decks and outdoor showers. Those who seek more than game drives & mokoro trips can enjoy a spa treatment or a whizz over the area by helicopter. This is the ultimate safari destination.
The dining area affords great views of the surrounding landscape and has recently been extended and improved and a brand new pizza deck with pizza oven has been added. Dine in true alfresco African style, kept warm by a camp fire, as you enjoy a candlelit gourmet dinner complemented by a selection of fine vintage wines.
