Located on a tea plantation, this exquisite private game lodge is built on the edge of the Nyungwe closed canopy rain forest – which is home to thirteen species of primate, including chimpanzees. Constructed so as not to intrude on the landscape the property’s rooms and suites offer every comfort the traveller might need from air conditioning and flat screen TVs, to private decks and WiFi access, while a host of activities in and around the rain forest are on offer.
This is undoubtedly the best property in the Nyungwe National Park, and is perfect for the primate fan. The organised treks to find the chimps and monkeys are always great fun, but try also to make the time to explore the Kamiranzovu Swamp & the nearby waterfalls. Make sure you take advantage of the two signature resort experiences included each day.
Set within the rainforest in five villa clusters, accommodation is available in either Canopy Treehouses or two-bedroom Canopy Villas. Each has a fire place, mini bar, walk-in shower, deep stand-alone bath and private viewing deck from which to relax and soak up the surrounds.
Children are welcome but those under 15 years old are not permitted to trek with chimpanzees
